Our British, handmade upholstery service is all about high quality. We specialise in both traditional horsehair and modern foam techniques.
Every piece is carefully hand made in our Upholstery Workshop in the English Lake District in Cumbria by our long time, expert upholsterer David.
Over the years we have been trusted with hundreds of pieces of furniture needing. From antique heirlooms to chairs and sofas that just look a bit tired, or dining chair drop-in-seats, we can take good care to breathe some new life into them.
We can also repair loose joints, clean and refinish show-wood or fully restore pieces that have seen better days. With antiques, we prefer to reupholster in the same manner in which it was made, by hand, using traditional upholstery techniques.
Every sofa, armchair and bedhead is carefully handmade in our upholstery workshop. The springs in our chairs are each stitched in by hand and every level of upholstery built up to ensure the integrity of our furniture.
The care taken means that our pieces are highly comfortable and will look great for many years to come.
As part of our Bespoke service, we hold samples of literally thousands of fabrics. We know our fabric books inside and out, and will help you find the perfect fabric for your furniture. We can even help to make it part of your interior scheme, with curtains or accessories.
Arrange an appointment or send us a photograph of your interior space to help us find the perfect fabric for you.
The details are so often ignored, but they make all the difference. We can advise on various options to add a whole new level of sophistication and uniqueness to your furniture.
Our custom fitting service is offered as standard for all our upholstery or reupholstery work. We will discuss with you the sort of feel you like, whether that be firmer and more supported for reading, or super soft for lounging. Before the top cover of your chosen fabric is sewn on, we can tailor the upholstery to give you the ultimate comfort.
