Furniture Restoration & Conservation
Our philosophy
is, wherever possible, to conserve rather than restore. Your wood furniture refinish is expertly carried out by skilled and experienced craftsmen. Instead of removing the marks and blemishes on your treasured piece of furniture and thus wiping away some of its history, we prefer to preserve its originality and integrity. We consider conservation to be preferable, as it retains the history of the piece and believe it is important that your furniture can be be enjoyed by future generations.
Our chief restorer, John Griffiths has recently acheived prestigious accreditation from the uk Institute of Conservation.

CLIENTS
Our craftsmen have been chosen to conserve and restore some very rare and beautiful antique furniture for clients such as The Wordsworth Trust, The National Trust, The Brantwood Trust, The Lancashire Museum Service and The Victoria & Albert Museum. The wood furniture refinish is meticulously carried out and every piece of furniture that we are entrusted to work upon, from the largest down to the smallest client, receives the same care and attention as even the rarest antiques.
Clients are invited to discuss their requirements with our craftsmen in Staveley, near Kendal, Cumbria. If feasible, a home visit can be made.

MATCHING TIMBERS
Inevitably, there will be occasions where wood needs replacing so to ensure the best possible match with your existing furniture, we keep a large stock of old and rare timbers.
