| FUMED OAK GLASS TOPPED COFFEE TABLE | |
|
This oak table was made, then fumed to darken the colour. Fuming is a chemical process which uses ammonia. The oak's inherent tannins react with the ammonia and darken the timber. Ebony inlaid lines define the octagonal shape and four of the sides feature ebony and pomele sapele inlaid symbols of the suits in a pack of playing cards. The bevelled glass top adds to the elegant design of this table. In addition the customer's initials are subtly inlaid within the club and hearts symbols, giving the piece personal significance and interest for subsequent family generations. |
