Workshops

On a site on the edge of Staveley village between Kendal and Windermere, our workshops and timber store are tucked behind the more recent and lovely stone built showroom.

The restoration and cabinet- making workshops are viewable from a hallway leading to our interior design studio, and you are welcome to stand and watch the makers and restorers at work.

The restoration workshop enchants visitors with the beautiful old planes and assorted antique tools used to bring the furniture back to life within the department.

The cabinet workshop is the largest workshop with 6 benches, and various different pieces on the go at any one time.  From laying out of the drawings to veneering of fine pieces, there is always something different happening in the workshop. Although our upholsterer works from a workshop above the showroom and is not observable, if you are interested to see how our sofas and chairs are made and the quality of the craftsmanship involved, we would be happy to show you.
